These gorgeous, hand-made rugs are based on the world famous African-American quilts by the Gee's Bend Quilters of Alabama. Currently on exhibit at the De Young Museum in San Francisco, the quilts have been shown in fine art museums across the USA. We have tried to be as faithful as possible to the original quilts in terms of color and design, but we have changed the proportions to create standard-sized rugs. The quilters receive a royalty for the use of their designs on our rugs. We are honored to work with these outstanding artists since 2002.
